Part of the end of life care process involves making decisions regarding if you want to be resuscitated or "brought back to life" in the event that your heart stops working. This particular form is called a DNACPR, which stands for Do Not Attempt Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation. I have learnt quite a bit about this process during my medical training, but never thought I would be faced with making this decision at such a young age. This is a blog about my journey through cancer. This storm will eventually pass as it once did a few years ago. But, this time I invite you to ride the storm with me as I tell you about its turbulent winds and raging seas. But even when the breakers and the waves crash down, there is a hope, an anchor, that when grasped will save me from the darkest and deepest moments. Not only does the anchor save, it brings life and light in the darkness so much so that I know I won't be wanting.

Dear Stari, your thoughts as ever challenge me - we are all sure of one thing - and that is we are all going to die - some of us get a warning - some of us do not - but those of us who choose to trust in the Lord know death does not have the final say - we can rejoice in the message but at the same time that does not stop me feeling sad at times for friends and family in difficult situations - even though we can still have hope but maybe our hope changes Liz x
