Last night, out of nowhere, I had the sudden urge to pen this poem. Which was slightly untimely since this desire hit me square between the eyes at 11:30pm - I have strategically made this post public at a reasonable time of day so you will not know how late I stayed up. This is a blog about my journey through cancer. This storm will eventually pass as it once did a few years ago. But, this time I invite you to ride the storm with me as I tell you about its turbulent winds and raging seas. But even when the breakers and the waves crash down, there is a hope, an anchor, that when grasped will save me from the darkest and deepest moments. Not only does the anchor save, it brings life and light in the darkness so much so that I know I won't be wanting.

Oh Little Star

Hello Stari, I'm Lauren! I know I've commented already on another post of yours, but I felt compelled to write on this one as well. I may be wrong, but I think God said to me that the star was you. God is speaking through this poem to you. The beauty of it is that it is so personal and relevant to others as well. I love how it tells of God's grace and love with out being 'Christiany', if you know what I mean?
ReplyDeleteI know the feeling of suddenly writing a poem that seems to be writing it self! I'm not much of one to write poems, but sometimes God's 'flow' or inspiration comes to me, I my understanding is that is what happened to you too :)
P.s I have just noticed Your name looks almost like Star!!!! Wow! "Oh little Stari" God is amazing!
